ABB AC 800M module

PM856AK01

The CPU board contains the microprocessor and RAM memory, a real-time clock, LED indicators, INIT push button, and a CompactFlash interface.

The base plate of the PM856A controller has two RJ45 Ethernet ports (CN1, CN2) for connection to the Control Network, and two RJ45 serial ports (COM3, COM4). One of the serial ports (COM3) is an RS-232C port with modem control signals, whereas the other port (COM4) is isolated and used for the connection of a configuration tool.

Simple DIN rail attachment / detachment procedures, using the unique slide & lock mechanism. All base plates are provided with a unique Ethernet address which provides every CPU with a hardware identity. The address can be found on the Ethernet address label attached to the TP830 base plate.

PM861AK02

The CPU board contains the microprocessor and RAM memory, a real-time clock, LED indicators, INIT push button, and a CompactFlash interface.

The base plate of the PM861A controller has two RJ45 Ethernet ports (CN1, CN2) for connection to the Control Network, and two RJ45 serial ports (COM3, COM4). One of the serial ports (COM3) is an RS-232C port with modem control signals, whereas the other port (COM4) is isolated and used for the connection of a configuration tool. The controller supports CPU redundancy for higher availability (CPU, CEX-Bus, communication interfaces and S800 I/O).

Simple DIN rail attachment / detachment procedures, using the unique slide & lock mechanism. All base plates are provided with a unique Ethernet address which provides every CPU with a hardware identity. The address can be found on the Ethernet address label attached to the TP830 base plate.

Package including:

2 pcs PM861A, CPU

2 pcs TP830, Baseplate, width = 115mm

2 pcs TB807, ModuleBus terminator

1 pcs TK850, CEX-bus expansion cable

1 pcs TB851, RCU-Link cable

2 pcs Battery for memory backup (4943013-6) one for each controller

PM864AK01

The CPU board contains the microprocessor and RAM memory, a real-time clock, LED indicators, INIT push button, and a CompactFlash interface.

The base plate of the PM864A controller has two RJ45 Ethernet ports (CN1, CN2) for connection to the Control Network, and two RJ45 serial ports (COM3, COM4).

PM891K01

The PM891 processor is a monolithic unit equipped with power supply, CPU-boards and unit termination. The unit contains microprocessor and RAM memory, a real-time clock, LED indicators, INIT push button and a Secure Digital interface. The PM891 does not contain any internal battery The PM891 has two RJ45 Ethernet ports (CN1, CN2) for connection to the Control Network, and one RJ45 serial port (COM4). The COM4 port is isolated and used for a configuration tool. The PM891 supports CPU redundancy for higher availability (CPU, CEX-Bus, communication interfaces and S800 I/O).

The communication expansion bus (CEX-Bus) is mounted on the unit. The CEX-Bus is used for extending the on-board communication ports with communication interface units. It is possible to use redundant communication interfaces on the CEX-Bus. The CEX-Bus Interconnection unit BC810 is used to increase the availability on the CEX-Bus by dividing it into separate segments. The optical Modulebus of the unit can be used for connecting seven clusters of S800 I/O units (each comprising up to 12 units). Each PM891 is provided with a unique Ethernet address which provides hardware identity to the unit.

CI853 RS-232 module protocols:

COMLI can be used on the build in COM3 port and optionally on the CI853 ports. The cable length can be extended considerably (to several km) using a fiber optic converter. RS-232C is the standard communication interface used for serial communication with COMLI. The CI853 supports Hot Swap. COMLI is an ABB protocol for data transmission between controllers. It is designed for asynchronous master/slave communication in half-duplex. COMLI protocol supports dial-up modem controlled from the application. CI853 supports both Master/Slave mode in COMLI.

CI854

PROFIBUS DP is a high speed multipurpose bus protocol (up to 12Mbit/s) for interconnecting field devices, like remote I/O, drives, low voltage electrical equipment, and controllers. PROFIBUS DP can be connected to the AC 800M via the CI854A communication interface. The Classic CI854A includes two PROFIBUS ports to realize line redundancy and it also supports PROFIBUS master redundancy. The CI854B is the new PROFIBUS-DP master that replaces CI854A in new installations.

CI856

S100 I/O communication is realized in AC 800M by communication interface CI856, which is connected to the CEX-Bus through a base plate. The baseplate, TP856, houses a ribbon connector connecting to bus extender boards in S100 I/O racks and provides a simple DIN-rail mounting. Up to five S100 I/O racks can be connected to one CI856 where each I/O rack can hold up to 20 I/O boards.

The CI856 is powered by the processor unit, via the CEX-Bus, and therefore does not require any additional external power source.

CI857

INSUM integration into AC 800M supports higher functionality integration, multidrop configurations, time distribution and time stamping in the switchgear, and utilizes standard Ethernet technology for longer communication distances. The speed of this solution is typically 500 ms for one closed loop (indication from one motor until operation of another, assuming 250 ms cycle time in control execution).

CI858

The DriveBus protocol is used to communicate with ABB Drives and ABB Special I/O units. DriveBus is connected to the controller via a CI858 communication interface unit. The DriveBus interface is used for communication between ABB Drives and AC 800M controller.

The DriveBus communication is especially designed for sectional drive applications for ABB rolling mill drive systems, and ABB paper machine control systems. The CI858 is powered by the processor unit, via the CEX-Bus, and therefore does not require any additional external power source.
